Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Mekelburg

So often you find that the students you’re trying to inspire, are the ones that end up INSPIRING you.” (Sean Junkins)
Education
has been in my family for many generations. I have had the privilege of
being in the field of education for 17 years. I started my teaching
career in the Snoqualmie Valley School District in 1996, where I taught 1st and 2nd grade.
After my
husband Matt and I started our family, I opted to stay home with our
little ones. During those years, I worked a flexible schedule as a
supervisor of student teachers for Western Washington University as well
as for City University. When my youngest child Jacob entered
kindergarten in 2013, I entered back into the public schools as
Pioneer’s librarian. This year, I am blessed to be teaching 4th grade. I LOVE being back in the classroom!
My family consists of my husband Matt, Sarah an 8th grader, Emily a 5th grader at Pioneer and Jacob a 1st
grader at Pioneer, 1 large German Shepherd and 1 tiny five pound
Malti-Poo puppy. If I had any spare time… I’d read often, cook
creatively, and be outdoors as much as possible.
