PIONEER iNFORMATION

We have some new faces at Pioneer!

  • Assistant Principal: Sue Krause is coming to us from the Lakewood School District.
  • Counselor: Crystal Williams is coming to us from the Snohomish School District.
  • 3rd Grade teacher: Greg Brager is not a new face but in a new position at Pioneer.
  • Custodian: Ryan Jordan is not new to Arlington School District but can now call Pioneer home.

Below you will find additional information about our school:

  • School improvements: There were many improvements that were paid for by our taxpayers through the 2020 Capital Projects Levy. THANK YOU VOTERS! All secure entryways have been completed across the district and campuses continue to be closed to non-registered visitors. On the first day of school, please plan to drop your children off at the door. Parents needing to meet with office staff or the nurse may buzz in at the front door.

Another way Pioneer has benefited from the Capital Projects Levy is by having the following removed and replaced this summer:
    - Existing roofing materials with new roofing
    - Siding and trim materials as needed
    - Defective vinyl clad windows
    - Building gutters
    - Make roof decking repairs as needed
    - Repair defective downspouts
    - Clean and repaint all wood or composite building siding, trim, and exposed structural steel components
    - Apply sealant and anti-graffiti coating to concrete masonry unit walls

  • Arrival and Dismissal: There are several options for student drop off and pick-up. Morning car drop off is located by the undercover play area at the back of the school and afternoon car pick-up is located on the playground by the “Big Toy”. We do ask that cars stay in a single line and not pass other cars. Front drop off and pick-up is for families that want to park their car and meet your child at the front of the school. All vehicles must park in a parking spot, including golf carts, and not park in the fire lane. Students that walk or ride bikes home need to follow the rules and directions of the adults on crosswalk duty. Bikes must be walked while on school grounds.

The last option for drop off and pick-up is the school bus. Students are expected to follow all school bus rules while riding the bus. Click here for bus route information. If you have questions regarding transportation, you can call 425-435-3307.

  • Meals: Breakfast and Lunch prices for Pioneer Elementary
    Breakfast $2.50
    Lunch $3.75

If your child qualifies for free/reduced lunch, you must complete the free/reduced lunch form below to continue those services. Updated forms will be on the District website soon.

For directions to apply for Free/Reduced Lunch online, you can visit our district website here https://www.asd.wednet.edu/administration/child_nutrition_services/free_and_reduced_meals_forms_and_information

  • Attendance: Finally, attendance is very important. Please make sure to call the office to let them know if your child will be absent. We are looking forward to partnering with families this year to ensure consistent daily attendance. For the pre arranged absence form and more information regarding attendance click here.

  • Safe Visitor
We use Safe Visitor as our check-in process. Similar to all other schools in Arlington, we must scan your ID and print you a visitor pass to wear at the main office if you wish to enter the instructional area. If you are on campus to pick up your student, please visit the main office so we can ensure custodial permissions exist prior to the student leaving campus. To enter Pioneer Elementary School, visitors will need to press the button at the main entrance and speak to a staff member prior to being "buzzed in." Late students must check in at the the main office prior to going to class. Thank you for stopping into the main office with every visit, regardless of your purpose - we're always glad to see you and check you in!

If you plan on chaperoning a field trip, being a classroom volunteer, or being on campus for any extended time period, you will need to complete a background check every school year. The background check can be completed here.
